Boursa Kuwait organizes first ‘Virtual Corporate Day’ in tie-up with HSBC
Kuwait:
Boursa Kuwait organized its first Virtual Corporate Day in collaboration
with HSBC, one of the largest banking and financial services institutions in the
world, from 9 until 10 September 2020. The conference, held virtually because of
the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, was attended by nine companies listed in
the Kuwaiti capital market, who met with 31 of the world’s leading institutional
investors and asset management firms over the two-day period.
The listed Kuwaiti companies came from the banking, telecom, industrials and the
consumer services sectors, holding 160 meetings with institutional investors and
asset management firms including commercial banks, mutual funds, hedge funds,
pension funds and insurance firms. The meetings enabled the international
investors to gain an in-depth understanding of the benefits and opportunities of
investing in the Kuwaiti companies, and offered deeper insights into the
financial performance, business strategy and outlook of the publicly traded
companies.
Commenting on the event, Boursa Kuwait’s Head of Markets Noura Al-Abdulkareem
said, “Boursa Kuwait continues to promote the Kuwaiti capital market to
institutional investors and asset management firms across the globe,
highlighting the unique investment opportunities this market has to offer for
all market participants.
As one of Kuwait’s key financial institutions, we have been mindful of taking
the necessary and feasible measures since the outbreak of the pandemic to ensure
the continuity of our business and our relationships with our many esteemed
partners. I would like to thank HSBC and the participants in our fifth, and
first virtual, edition of our series of Corporate Days, for helping make this
event a success.”
Boursa Kuwait’s series of Corporate Days showcases some of its standout listed
companies and the investment opportunities that reside in the Kuwaiti capital
market. Putting these companies in touch with some of the world’s leading
investment firms and financial institutions, the events aim to highlight these
companies’ financial health and business strategies and outlooks helping
investors gain an in-depth understanding of the benefits and opportunities of
investing in Kuwaiti companies.
