Kuwait’s curfew to end on August 30

Kuwait:

A nationwide curfew, adopted in Kuwait to contain the spread of the coronavirus, will be lifted on August 30, the government has said.

The partial curfew will be lifted as of 3am Sunday, August 30, across Kuwait, the government added.

In March, Kuwaiti authorities imposed the curfew as part of efforts to curb the spread of the virus.

In late July, authorities shortened the night-time curfew from nine hours to six as part of a plan for a gradual return to normal life in Kuwait.

However, the government said yesterday that a ban on large gatherings including wedding parties, receptions and mourning ceremonies in public and private places still applies as a precaution against COVID-19.

Kuwait so far has recorded a total of to 78,767 virus cases and 509 deaths from COVID-19.
