SKMC To Organize Public Health Talk On Children
Abu Dhabi, WAM:
Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), managed by Cleveland Clinic, will organize
the fourth public health talk about children and adolescents nurture on Tuesday
at the Behavioral Sciences Pavilion auditorium.
This health talk, titled "The Ideal Approach in Children and Adolescents
Nurture", is part of the Mental Health Awareness Program which includes a series
of health talks in Arabic language every month on different topics related to
mental health and social problems.
The invitation is extended to the public and
SKMC's patients.
SKMC is part of the SEHA Health System and is owned and operated by Abu Dhabi
Health Services Company (SEHA), which is responsible for the curative activities
of all the public hospitals and clinics in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The Mental Health Awareness Program is organized by the Behavioral Science
Pavilion (BSP) of SKMC, a comprehensive psychiatric facility committed to
providing mental health treatment services in the UAE.
The program consists of
monthly public health talks about different topics related to mental health in
Arabic language. The talks are given by a panel of mental health professionals,
including psychiatrists, psychologists as well as social workers from the BSP.
The fourth talk scheduled on 01 June 2010 will address the ideal approaches in
raising children and adolescents. The talk will be given in Arabic language by
Dr. Amani Abdul Hamid, Psychiatrist Specialist at the BSP, while the discussion
panel will include Dr. Isis Badawi, Head of Psychology Department; Ms. Awatef
Alzaabi, Psychologist and Ms. Aysha Alzaabi, Social Worker Specialist.
During the health talk, titled "The Ideal Approach in Children and Adolescents
Nurture", different topics will be discussed such as distinct stages in human
development, children witnessing divorced parents, the role of parents during
childhood and teenage periods, children treatment and punishment and other
issues related to raising children.
After the presentation, the door will be open for the attendees' questions and
discussions in order to give them the chance to better understand and correct
any miscomprehension or confusion.
WAM/AM
