New online services for citizens abroad

July 07, 2013

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has launched 13 new online consular services for the convenience of UAE nationals abroad as part of its strategy 2011-2013.

Isa Al Kalbani, Director of the Ministry’s Citizens’ Affairs, stated that all services of his department are now available online. He explained that an applicant can fill application forms on the selected service online and then visit the consulate once in the host country to collect documents of transactions, whether it be renewal of passport, wedding No Objection Certificate, emergency accidents, or death report among others.

Dr Saeed Al Dhaheri, Adviser to Foreign Minister for IT, said the new e-services had raised to more than 60 per cent the rate of e-transformation of the ministry’s 79 services.
