Dubai says new business licences create nearly 14,000 jobs in October

Dubai issued 4,763 new business licences in
October creating nearly 14,000 jobs, according to the Department of Economic
Development (DED).
The Business Registration and Licensing (BRL) sector in DED said68.1 percent of
the new licences were professional, 30.3 percent commercial, 1.1 percent related
to tourism and 0.5 percent industry.
The top nationalities who secured licences in October were Bangladeshis,
Indians, Pakistanis, Egyptians, Jordanians, Saudis, Sudanese, Americans,
Lebanese and French, a statement said.
The Business Map digital platform of DED saw 34,233 business registration and
licensing transactions completed during October, it added.
Real estate, leasing and business services accounted for 46.9 percent of the new
licences issued in October, followed by trade and repair services (25.1
percent), building and construction (9.2 percent), community and personal
services (6.4 percent), transport, storage and communications (5.1 percent),
hotels (2.6 percent), and manufacturing (1.7 percent).
