UK's Prince William to visit Kuwait and Oman next month

Kuwait, Oman: Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, is to visit Kuwait and Oman at the start of December.

The UK’s Kensington Palace announced on Twitter the four-day visit to the Middle East, at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, between December 1 and 4.

But his wife Kate will not be travelling with him to the region and will, instead, be staying at home with the royal couple’s three children.

The 37-year-old, who travelled to Jordan, Israel and Palestinian territories in 2018, is following in the footsteps of his father Prince Charles, who visited Oman in November 2016 with his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, during a three-nation royal tour to the Gulf.

The previous year, the heir to the UK throne visited Kuwait on a six-day tour to the region, where he met with His Highness The Emir of Kuwait, Sheik Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jabber Al Sabah, at the Bayan Palace.

William and Kate have only recently returned to the UK following an official visit to Pakistan.
